Company history
Over the life of the Company GPA has developed all the features of a fully functional, multidisciplinary consulting engineering Company. The following is a brief summary of the milestones of the Company’s history to date.
- 1987: The formation of the company with offices at East Terrace, Mile End (3 staff)
- 1990: The office relocated to Keswick (9 staff)
- 1991: The award of Katnook Gas Plant Development Project.
- 1992: The award of Beharra Springs WA Gas Plant Development Project
- 1993: First Operations Support contract, SANTOS SMG
- 1994: Office shift to East Terrace Mile End (18 staff)
- 1994: The first international project in the Taranaki region of NZ
- 1995: First major turnkey SCADA projects won.
- 1996: The award of the Katnook Gas Plant Expansion project
- 1997: Commencement of formal graduate development program. Appointment of four graduate engineers
- 1998: Commencement of ISO 9001 Quality Assurance accreditation
- 1998: The award of project management of the Berri to Mildura Pipeline (185km) project for Boral Energy
- 1999: Renewal and expansion of office accommodation for further 4 years (38 Staff)
- 1999: Receipt of QA Accreditation - AS/NZS 9001:1994
- 1999: GPA appointed as an Intellution Systems Integrator Partner
- 2000: Elevated to Intellution Solution Partner Status
- 2001: The award of the SA Water SCADANet project
- 2001: Appointment as the SEAGas Project Owners Engineers
- 2001: Retirement of founding Director, Glen Parkinson
- 2001: Appointment of new Director, Alf Sanzo
- 2003: Certified Safety Functional Expert status achieved
- 2003: Office shift to Hanimex House, Magill Rd, Stepney (42 staff)
- 2004: Appointed to SA Water SCADA Panel
- 2004: South East South Australia (SESA) project
- 2006: Zinifex (Nyrstar) Engineering Alliance Partner
- 2006: Retirement of founding Director, Phil Morrell
- 2006: Mortlake power station pipeline project
- 2007: Expansion of Tenancy in Hanimex House (55 Staff)
- 2008: Re-appointment to SA Water SCADA Panel
- 2008: Appointment of new Directors, Tony Williams, Andrew Ursini, David Johnston and John Elliott
- 2009: Award of Christies Beach WWTP upgrade project
- 2010: Passing of Director, Andrew Ursini
- 2010: Opening of GPA Brisbane office (91 staff)
- 2010: Milestone of 100 permanent staff members
