GPA was engaged by Applied Nano Technologies Pty Ltd (ANT) to perform a concept study for a proposed hydrogen production facility. The facility was to produce hydrogen from renewable sources.
GPA was engaged by Jemena, a natural gas distribution network owner and operator across the east coast of Australia to complete a technical review. Jemena were interested in understanding where hydrogen could integrate between the electrical and gas markets. Power to Gas (P2G) was identified as a technology that could provide stability to the both the electrical and gas markets.
AGIG / VALMEC
GPA was proud to be part of the first electrolysis and injection project in Australia, designing the Hydrogen Park SA (HyP SA) hydrogen production and injection facility in Tonsley, South Australia.
SA Government / COAG / FFCRC
GPA were engaged by the South Australian Government and Future Fuels CRC on behalf of COAG Energy Council to complete two technical reviews. GPA explored the impacts of adding up to 10% hydrogen to the natural gas distribution networks within Australia, as well as the impacts of addition of up to 10% hydrogen to downstream gas users.
Tarbat oil field owned by Santos in Queensland’s southwest required a new power generation solution to operate of a number of wells and the associated surface infrastructure. GPA was part of the delivery of a renewable micro grid system, which significantly improved efficiency and reduced overheads.
GPA has completed a range of engineering services for Viterra to support its transition to road transport for the movement of grain. The Port Lincoln export terminal site upgrade was completed in eight months and is part of Viterra’s overall focus of providing an efficient, cost-effective and sustainable supply chain to its customers.
GPA has worked closely with Senex for many years, designing and refining several variations of their CSG wellsite facilities, resulting in optimised, fit for purpose skid based designs that are easy to operate and simple to install.
The Atlas Compressor Station (ACS) is a CSG gas compression facility developed for Jemena in the Western Downs Region of Queensland. GPA completed the detailed design as well as supporting procurement and construction.
The Roma North (EOS) Compression facility is a CSG gas compression facility developed for Senex in Queensland’s Surat Basin. GPA completed the FEED and detailed design for the facility setting new industry cost benchmarks, significantly below all other Queensland CSG projects.
The Dingo Gas Field is located South of Alice Springs. GPA designed a new city gate gas treatment station at Brewer Estate utilising JT low temperature separation process to treat raw gas delivered from the Dingo wellheads.
GPA was appointed EPCM contractor for the BMS system upgrade project. The project involves the replacement of the Burner Management System (BMS) on the four B Station Boilers.
Arrium are in the process of upgrading the existing water infrastructure between Iron Knob and Iron Baron which is required for the installation of a new wash plant (the Integrated Processing Facility) to process low grade ore into a saleable product. Arrium required engineering services to undertake concept and detailed design for the infrastructure upgrades required.
Nyrstar Port Pirie
GPA has provided engineering services support to the southern hemisphere’s largest lead smelter/refinery, the Nyrstar facility since 1987.
SA Power Networks
GPA has worked closely with South Australia’s electricity distribution network operator, SA Power Networks (SAPN), to provide technical knowledge and assistance in a number of projects.
Osborne, Synergy, AGL and Stanwell
GPA has significant practical experience in the application of risk assessment and functional safety to power station applications (in accordance with
AS 61508/AS 61511).
GPA provided FEED and detailed engineering services for a new carbon dioxide purification facility at AGL's Torrens Island Power Station. We designed a high pressure, high temperature steam piping network, and pressure reduction station.
SA Water / United Water
GPA was the sole instrumentation and controls contractor for the $300m upgrade of the Christies Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant undertaken by SA Water.
Santos Gladstone Liquefied Natural Gas (GLNG) engaged GPA to assist with a prototype modular appraisal skid to evaluate coal seam gas wells. We completed the engineering design, and provided construction support for the prototype.
The Queensland Gas Pipeline (QGP) Stage 2 Expansion Project involved duplication of the existing DN300 QGP gas transmission pipeline with a 35km DN400 class 600# looping pipeline between Arcadia Valley and Rolleston to increase the pipeline capacity.
The Middleton Development project included the construction of 50km of sales pipelines to connect to the Moomba gathering system in the Cooper Basin.
GPA took on the final design, procurement, construction scoping, construction management, and commissioning of a hydrocarbon sludge treatment plant at Moomba. At the time GPA became involved, the project had entered construction, but the design and procurement were incomplete and insufficient for construction purposes.
Gap analysis and hazardous area compliance for a solvent distillation plant.
Falling gas pressures on the gas main to Bulwer Island Power Station required the selection, purchase and installation of fuel gas boost compression. A Howden WCVXN 204/11021 oil flooded, rotary screw compressor which was powered by a variable speed drive and an electric motor was selected to handle the variable turndown of the Power plant.
GPA has provided services for large Scale Solar PV Power Stations at the following locations; QLD Gatton Research Facility, Nyngan Power Station and Broken Hill Power station.
The 30MW Cullerin Range Wind Farm is comprised of 15 wind turbines rated at 2MW each. The project involved the design, construction and commissioning of the wind farm including 132/22kV substation and distribution systems.
The project involved the design, procurement and fabrication of a trommel for use in Cadmium production at the Nyrstar Port Pirie Smelter. The Trommel consists of a sloping bottom rectangular tank, with soft closing lids and support frame, motor, gear box, shaft, shaft seals, internal rotating cage with cage doors, internal cleaning nozzles and tank instrumentation.
BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA)
The Hay Point Coal Terminal project involved GPA undertaking reviews of equipment and structures, to provide the relevant statutory maintenance and inspection information that allowed BMA to assess changes required for compliance.
GPA performed structural assessments at the Viterra Pt Adelaide storage and shipping facility.
GPA designed a reconfiguration of Energy Resources of Australia’s (ERA) process water pre-treatment plant as part of the Ranger Uranium Mine in the Northern Territory. The reconfiguration was to enable the implementation of the high density sludge treatment process. The project also included designing 15km of brine, permeate, and mine water pipelines.
Nyrstar Port Pirie (NPP) is an integrated multi-metals recovery plant processing a wide range of lead rich concentrates and smelting industry by-products. NPP is one of the world’s largest primary lead smelting facilities and the third largest silver producer. NPP has a 45 MW network and more than 20 substations on-site.
Upgrade of electric equipmnent, HA Remediation, Upgrade Implementation and ventilation.
GPA has been supporting SA Water’s automation systems over the past 15 years and has been highly successful in consistently delivering SCADA and Controls projects and Operations Support services. This work has been delivered via an estimated 250 separate contracts with SA Water, United Water, AllWater and SA Water Constructors. In total GPA has designed / installed / upgraded / configured / commissioned an estimated 600 individual sites throughout metropolitan and regional South Australia for SA Water.
This project concerned the upgrade of existing 11kV high voltage assets (cables, switchboards, protection and metering equipment) at five critical Water Treatment Plants across Adelaide.
To bring a newly constructed power station (640MW, gas-fired) in line with operational and safety standards, we acted as owners’ engineers for the client and performed design verification, commissioning, and operational support duties.
GPA designed, tendered, construction managed and commissioned the 80km DN500 Iona to Mortlake Pipeline. This included the inlet meter station and connection to the Otway gas plant.
