Project Manager

Project Manager sought for full-time position at GPA’s Adelaide office.

The Opportunity:

Your role of Project Manager at GPA Engineering is to manage a portfolio of projects predominantly in Mining and Metallurgical industry.  GPA delivers engineering solutions across a range of industries and disciplines and you will be working in a collaborative and supportive project delivery team environment. This leadership role will support, coach and guide our project team members to ensure we meet our client’s expectations.

This role would suit a self-driven project manager with mining and minerals processing experience or other complex industrial project experience, such as in the oil and gas industry, who prefers a stable Monday to Friday role with work life balance. Your extensive Engineering/Project Management capabilities will complement the Project Delivery team.

 

Your Role:

Working as part of the Project Delivery team some of your key tasks include:

  • Successfully deliver on small to large, complex, multidisciplinary, high-risk projects.
  • Collaboratively resolve anomalies, design issues, technical challenges.
  • Chair regular client meetings and track project actions, issues and risks.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare formal progress reports for the client.
  • Provide input to project tenders.
  • Contracts administration for larger projects.
  • Visit clients/sites as required.

Your Employment History and Attributes

Ideally, you will have:

  • Satisfactorily completed a Bachelor of Engineering preferably specialising in Mining/Oil & Gas or similar.
  • Satisfactorily completed a Diploma in Project Management.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Australia.
  • Solid design, operational and technical minerals processing or similar complex industrial experience.
  • Familiarity with complex schedules, time constraints, resource allocations, risk and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability as a logical thinker and pragmatic decision maker.
  • Skilled in building relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and influence.
  • High attention to detail, planner and super organised.
  • A positive mindset focused on solutions and customer service.
