Sludge Treatment Plant
GPA took on the final design, procurement, construction scoping, construction management, and commissioning of a hydrocarbon sludge treatment plant at Moomba. At the time GPA became involved, the project had entered construction but the design and procurement were incomplete and insufficient for construction purposes.
The plant comprised of:
- an unloading bay for vacuum sludge tankers
- coarse screen
- holding tank
- mixing tanks
- three phase decanter
- centrifuges for polishing the oil and water
- storage tanks
- fire heater
- power generation
- chemical dosing
The project demonstrated GPA’s willingness and ability to work with the client, vendors, and stakeholders to finalise the design, complete the project under difficult circumstances, and commission the facility.
