GPA and YES Group Recognised at the 2023 Energy & Mining Premier’s Awards

GPA, YES Group, Win the Premier’s Energy & Mining, Innovation & Collaboration Award in the ETS Sector

GPA is thrilled to be recognised alongside our partners YES Group at the Department for Energy and Mining, South Australia 2023 Premier’s Energy & Mining Awards. The Red Mud Green Energy (RMGE) project has been a significant undertaking by both GPA and YES to create networks of small-to-medium-scale solar farms, utilising unused pastoral land in regional SA.

The project connects networks of PV facilities to the grid and National Energy Market, using Australian first technology, allowing the sites to operate within tradition energy arbitrage markets, and AEMO Frequency Response Ancillary Services (FCAS) markets. RMGE sites effectively and efficiently trade the power generated on site by leveraging the latest energy arbitrage technology to monitor the supply, demand and pricing of energy via a virtual power plant.

This award and project are leading examples of GPA’s commitment to delivering quality engineering solutions at every level of the energy transition, with our expertise in power systems and network connection allowing small sites like RMGE’s to make a big difference.
