John has over 30 years’ experience in the oil and gas, water, hydrogen and mining industries, with significant experience in the specification, detailed design, configuration and programming of industrial automation systems, SCADA platforms and communications systems.

John is GPA’s Discipline Manager of GPA’s Software & SCADA division, and his wealth of experience is invaluable to the team. His support of the graduates in his team ensures the industry leading SCADA and Software capabilities of GPA will continue to lead the industry.

John has significant experience in the specification, design and implementation of various communications systems including fibre, wide area networks (WAN), satellite network specification, wireless instrumented networks and telemetry systems, including narrow band radios, spread spectrum radios and microwave.

He has an in-depth understanding of the design, specification and configuration of industrial networking systems. His knowledge is further enhanced through his knowledge and experience of a number of various programming languages.
