Bolivar & Glenelg Waste Water Treatment Plant Upgrades

GPA provided hazardous area upgrades at two major SA Water wastewater treatment plant sites, Glenelg WWTP and Bolivar WWTP. The projects included an upgrade of electric equipment, HA remediation, upgrade implementation and ventilation, as well as the generation of hazardous area dossier.

The scope of the projects was to ensure that the sites were fully hazardous area compliant to the applicable standards. GPA provided a full turnkey upgrade, detailed design, procurement of materials and contracted and managed multiple installation contractors to perform the upgrade works.

GPA additionally designed and installed ventilation systems to meet required air change-out rates for the purpose of achieving hazardous area compliance. This has included the sizing, selection and layout of fans, structural design of exhaust stacks and concrete penetrations and sound attenuation.

GPA has also been involved in piping design throughout these facilities. This has included material selection, piping stress analysis, code compliance, the design of double block and bleed systems and the specification of various valves and instrumentation.
