AGIG (Australian Gas Networks)

AGIG Hydrogen Park Murray Valley

GPA was engaged by AGIG to support their newest “Hydrogen Park” project in Wodonga in the Murray Valley. This project represents a continuation of GPA’s partnership with AGIG in delivering their suite of “Hydrogen Park” hydrogen production, blending, and injection facilities.

HyP Murray Valley features 2 x 5 MW alkaline electrolysers and associated equipment which are capable of producing 2,000 Nm3/h of renewable hydrogen per year. At the time of commissioning, the electrolyser is set to be the largest on the east coast of Australia.

Initially, the facility will use renewable hydrogen for gas blending at up to 10% by volume to support the decarbonisation of the gas networks in the Albury-Wodonga region.

The facility is ideally located to realise potential other end uses, including refuelling, as the hydrogen market develops.

GPA has supported the project from pre-FID stage through to the Detailed Design. In collaboration with other consultants, GPA has progressed the Detailed Design of the Balance of Plant of the Facility. The design included integration of the following packages:

  • Electrolyser
  • Hydrogen Compressors
  • LP Buffer Storage and High Pressure Storage Cylinders
  • Cooling and Chilled water circuits
  • Electrical LV and HV Design
  • Switchroom Design
  • Pressure and flow control and metering skids

GPA has assisted with vendor package review as part of the detailed design, working with vendors to enable the integration of complex packages within the plant
